Saturday Afternoon Haul - July 22, 2023 Universal Monsters!
Our haul this week features our favorite monsters--the Universal Monsters!
I finally picked up the color version of the NECA Count Dracula. I hadn't planned on the Dracula Accessory set as I could never find it in stores. But, I found it in Target--and still decided I didn't need it in my collection. However, I was advised "if I was going to get it, I'd better not pass it up." So, with a little bit of luck, the Dracula set was still there a week later. I took that as a sign that I was meant to get it after all. There's not a lot to it, but the coffin is pretty cool.
Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make.
Yes, I picked up a second Kid Robot plush Frankenstein's monster. My brother wanted it, but I'd already bought it two weeks earlier and Target must've only got one in stock.
And that little monster is a figurine I picked up from our favorite local toy store, 1313 Mockingbird Lane in Lawrence, KS. Again, my brother wanted it, but he graciously let me have it.
I really want the Trick or Treat Studios Frankenstein statue before it's gone. But to hold me over, I treated (or maybe tricked?) myself to this 14" Mego version. I really like it and is a good companion piece to my Creature from the Black Lagoon.
My only toy-related Amazon Prime Day this purchase was this Univeral Monsters Funkoverse game featuring mini Funko's of the Bride, the Creature, the Invisible Man and Dracula. I'll likely never play the game itself, but I love the mini versions of the Funko's.
And finally, I found this Peanuts Frankenstein Snoopy in a local Walmart. I'd never expected to find this figure from Super7 and assumed the run had come and gone and never made it to any local stores. But there it was! The irony, both I and my brother wanted it--but unlike the other Frankensteins in this haul Walmart had two on the shelf!
