Discover exciting new and forgotten Universal Monsters books from the early 2000s featuring Frankenstein, Wolf Man and Dracula, along with a vintage novelization of the 1941 Wolf Man movie and 1992 young adult monster novels!
There's a ton of merch from the old-school Universal Monster characters, and it's always a blast to find something you didn't even know was out there. That's exactly what happened when I came across these three books with original stories about the classic monsters.

The Wolf Man: Hunter's Moon is a reimagining of the classic 1941 movie as Larry Talbot seeks refuge from the werewolf's curse from an order or ancient knights. This book came out in 2007. It was written by Michael Jan Friedman, who we know from lots of great Star Trek novels.
Frankenstein: The Shadow of Frankenstein appear to continue where Bride of Frankenstein left off with Henry and Elizabeth escaping the carnage to London. The monster follows them and end ups encountering the dark magics that empower Jack the Ripper! (Ok, why wasn't this book called Frakenstein meets Jack the Ripper?) The book came out in 2006 and was written by Stefan Petrucha, who wrote part of one of our all-time favorite comics, the Topps X-Files comics in the 90s.
Dracula: Asylum is another twisted tale when the undead Count set his fangs on Dr. Seward's sanitorium, he is eventually defeated by Seward and monster hunter Van Helsing. But years later, following the first World War, Dracula is restored to life, but trapped below the asylum and forced to kill by possessing the minds of the weak patients. This novel appears to take Dracula in a completely different tale and unrelated to the 1931 movie. The book came out in 2006. This one was written by Paul Witcover.
There is a Creature from the Black Lagoon novel in this series, which we understand involves time travel, but we were not able to pick it up yet. Likewise, a Bride of Frankenstein book called Pandora's Bride exists, but we've yet to find much information on it as of this post.

The next set of books, which came out in 1992, are young adult-type novels retelling the first movies featuring Dracula, Wolf Man, Frankenstein and the Mummy. Each contains a poster.

Our final book, released in 1977 along with several other Universal Monsters movies, features a novelization of the 1941 The Wofl Man. This book features photos from the movie--all in black and white. This one was the hardest to get ahold of, but we found it at a decent price. The book was written by Carl Dreadstone.
