We were shocked to learn that Retro-a-go-go!, a retail company known for vintage-style horror decor and masks, has closed down operations and is no longer in business as of November 30.
Founded in 2004, Retro-a-go-go! produced Universal Monsters–style figures, licensed Bela Lugosi statuettes and masks, Munsters merchandise, monster masks, Krampus and other holiday-themed horror decorations, General Mills monster cereal characters, and more. Each item featured a unique '60s vibe with psychedelic colors and well-designed packaging that was just as exciting as the product inside.
We discovered the closure while checking for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, so we missed out on any last-minute pickups. Unfortunately, we only discovered Retro-a-go-go! in recent years, so many of the coolest items are now very expensive on the secondary market.
A few of our favorites and ones we're still on the hunt for!
Krampus! I've not found this online anywhere, so I'm incredibly happy I picked it up at the local toy store last year! I couldn't take it out of the packaging--look at that header art!

Yes, on the hunt for Krampus merch last year--for the holidays, of course. This was another in-person pickup.

A few of the 4.5" Man-wolf, Frankenstein and Bela Lugosi Dracula.

A cool Bela Lugosi as Dracula mask!

Just picked this one up at the toy store a few weeks ago!

The following are all things we'd LIKE to have. Photos are mostly from eBay.
Wow! Look at that artwork! I wish someone would put out an art book of all the incredible work done by Retro-a-go-go! I'm sure there are things that I've never seen before--including the cool artwork on the back of the boxes.
I'd not seen this Gourd Goblin before, but love the nod to the old Beistle scarecrow with the corn cob pipe.

I wish I'd been here! (Not the bathrooms)

This one is a big want for me! Love those atomic colors--and it's the Wolf Man!

The bride is okay (we like the neck bolts), but we love any strange colored monsters and this Frankenstein is perfect in pink!

Whether it's the monsters, Munsters or masks, it's hard to argue this artwork isn't some of the most creative we've seen. Do you have a favorite Retro-a-go-go! piece? Are you still on the hunt for something? Here at Cereal Creatures, the hunt continues!
