Lego Creator set features Haunted Mansion with Frankenstein, a vampire, ghost and a Wolf Man

Updated: 7 hours ago

Lego Creator debuts 3in1 Haunted Mansion featuring Frankenstein, a vampire, ghost and the Wolf Man.

It’s been a long time since I built anything with Legos. Many years ago, I remember building the Enterprise-D (Star Trek), the Seaduck (Talespin), Scrooge’s money bin (DuckTales), the Turtle van (TMNT), Ecto-1 (Real Ghostbusters) and yes, even the Brady Bunch house. These were the days before fancy kits where the only limit was your imagination (and the special pieces that you had to steal from your brother).

Now, you can get kits for anything from Batman to Star Wars. Lego Creator has announced a 3in1 Haunted House that may not be officially from the world of Universal Monsters, it certainly feels inspired by it. In addition to the haunted house, builders can construct a haunted train or a haunted ship. Accessories include a front gate, a graveyard, scary tree, an organ and a hidden ghost revealed by turning a wheel. While not listed, I also see a pumpkin or jack o’lantern in the photo, which adds another spooky Halloween plus.

The really cool part though are the character minifigures that include a werewolf, vampire (looks like a Dracula’s daughter type), a glow-in-the-dark ghost, a skeleton and the Frankenstein monster looking a little Karloff in all his monster glory.

At $90 this seems a little steep for collecting the box. Had it been official Universal Monsters merch I probably would’ve relented, but for now it’s a maybe. According to Lego’s online store, the release date is August 1.

There are 736 pieces and the item is 31167. The house is 9.5 inches high, 9 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep. You can view it now at lego.com.
