Halloween Haunt 2025: Halloween Decor Hunt Maximum Spookage Edition 2025

Updated: Sep 23

Our fourth Halloween decor hunt brings in our largest haul yet featuring merch from Target, Marshalls, Ross, Five Below and more--we're calling it Maximum Spookage Edition 2025.

We agreed this year that we'd not overdue the Halloween decor. Our selections had to be thoughtful--representative of our characters like Frankenstein, Dracula, the Bride and a scarecrow or pumpkinheaded guy. Who would've thought we'd be inundated with these characters?!

And another pleasant surprise this year is Peanuts and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" licensed collectibles. For us, these go right along with vintage Halloween decor.

We didn't want to add a lot of these type of tabletop decorations to our collection this year, but this jack o'lantern-headed man really stood out. About 18" tall, its brown and tan clothing gives it a 60s or early 70s vibe. He's earned the nickname "the Pumpkin-headed serial killer professor." He was found at Ross.

We saw this snowglobe that looked like a UFO with a skeleton astronaut last year and while it looked cool, we just didn't think we needed it. Then it came back this year and again, we passed it up twice. But that third time--now at the front of the Marshall's store where it's "now or never" we couldn't say no.

We were a little concerned Five Below was going to not hit the Hallowee mark this year. We were wrong. Let's start with these Peanuts Halloween 3" figures. They also had Lucy in a cowboy getup, but these two were more our style. They may be the same as last year, but the Charlie Brown we found last year had green skin.

Peanuts from Five Below

Also from Five Below is this Universal Monsters licensed Dracula shirt. It's not the best looking Lugosi, but for $5.55 who can complain about licensed Universal Monsters anything?

The same was true for this Peanuts shirt. A Halloween Peanuts shirt for $5.55. I couldn't pass it up. And best of all, the local Five Below had just put things out so they had all the sizes in stock.

Tractor Supply is not my first Halloween decor hunting ground, but when you find out they have something Frankenstein--why not? At $10, we had only planned on getting the Frankenstein, but the jack o'lantern looked so good, too. They also had a witch that looked very much like Margaret Hamilton, but $30 was pushing it. We stuck with these two. And best of all, the plants are still alive two weeks later!

We are running out of places to logically put rugs at this point, but we could use a rug in the kitchen. This Peanuts kitchen rug is so soft it's a treat to walk on it. And at $8 at Ross, we are very happy we picked it up.

Speaking of Great Pumpkins and Peanuts--how about some Reese's pumpkins? We finally found them at Dillons.

We're going to do a mini bookstore haul later, but this neon Mary Shelley Frankenstein book looks so good next to our Frankenstein boy candy bowl we picked up at Ross.

We don't really do a lot of generic Halloween blow molds--but for $5 we couldn't pass up a green jack o'lantern from Target.

Target glowing pumpkin green

Back on the Bride of Frankenstein and the monster train, we picked these tabletop collectibles up from Marshalls.

Frankenstein and Bride collectibles

The next items were licensed merch from Target's Bullseye Playground area. Ours was mostly picked over as there's not one that is local, but it's great to see both Peanuts and Universal Monsters merch represented. Way to go, Target!

The items were mostly kid-related, but could be used for decor. They included these playdough-like stampers and bath foam things.

These may have appeared last year and it didn't click what they were, but these Boo Hollow figures are classic, vintage style monster figures from Five Below!

Hot Topic isn't one of our usual Halloween locations, but on this haunt hunt we found t-shirts on sale. We're not sure what this werewolf shirt is for, but a wolf man and a shirtless wolf man is enough to ensure we'll take it.

Originally we passed on this Peantus Halloween shirt from Target as a light cover shirt means I'll spill on it first thing, but it was the only one and they had one left in the right size so we went for it.

The actual shirt I was wanting at Hot Topic was this classic Munsters shirt. It's kind of odd how there's almost no Munsters or Addams Family (other than Wednesday) rep during the Halloween season.

We are so disappointed our Kirklands is closing. It's not really local and we'd only been there once, but they had really good Halloween decor. We previously showed a Frankenstein pillow, but we also picked up this Frankenstein monster tabletop collectible which came in a 2-pack with The Mummy.

These Target Bullseye Playground mini plastic figures looked cool. There were 3 left at our Target and here they are in their new home!

Speaking of the last item at Target, the same was true for this Universal Monsters cup.

This animated light-up Frankenstein from Target was a late arrival, but we grabbed him minutes after he appeared online for purchase. He was $25 making him one of the more expensive items we picked up this year. He talks, too, but we kind of wish he would just light up continuously.

Another late entry is this Dollar Tree wooden vintage style ghost wall hanging. They also had a black cat. The mini sign swivels between "Boo" and "Happy Halloween."

We didn't know it at the time, but these ceramics monsters are kind of similar to the plastic versions from above. We picked these up online from Target.

We always get a Frankenstein dog toy and this bone monster was this year's entry. (It was a gift)

This cardboard box from Targe was a recent entry at one of our local stores--and had plates and napkins to go with it. We don't usually go for the kid's designs, but this is one of very few that includes rep of the Frankenstein monster, the Bride, Dracula and the Mummy. And careful readers might catch that this is the Bela Lugosi version of Dracula since he has no fangs (kidding, of course).

We don't do Disney anything, but these Frankenstein and Bride versions of Mickey and Minne were so cool. They also had a great looking tabletop Mickey, but these two salt shakers were cheaper and we'd get the Bride, too. We didn't pick it up, but the devil version of Donald Duck in blow mold form (was it Lowe's) look great, too. Hopefully next year Devil Donald joins Frankenstein Mickey in the decor aisle.

Mickey as Frankenstein and Minnie and Bride

These wood blocks from Target are intended to be toys for younger kids--coming in a spooky farm and scarecrow option and a Frankenstein and Dracula set. We're not sure what we'll do with them, but they make great tabletop decor, too. Once again, something unique from Target!

We wanted this Bat candle when we saw it in store at Kirklands, but it was a 100+ degree day and were afraid it might melt in the car. But it was one of those annoying fomo items that was stuck in our brains. When Kirklands online had a discount sale, we picked it up and yes, we're content now.

We've got enough monster pillows. Way too many. But this Ross Dracula--it's Dracula!

We didn't pick up a lot at Menards this year, but this Frankenstein yard decor looks great and lights up. We threw in a little video to show it.

We're still adding to our Fright Night Cinema Lemax Spooky Town and this year we picked up the Monsters on Main Street entry at Michaels. This was so cool with monster rep from Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolf Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon and the Mummy.

Back to Menards we picked up this Pumpkin Hollow Witchy Rocket while it was on sale. The bright, almost realistic looking flames stood out amongst the others. The Pumpkin Hollow spooky town-like pieces are quite the same quality as the Lemax versions, but they are much more affordable and offer some really creative designs.
