New print for Joe Bob's Halloween House Party launches from Slasher Design
A retro 80s/90s‑style newspaper ad design brings Joe Bob’s Halloween House Party to life with a new print from Slasher Design and Justin Osbourn.

As artist and designer Justin Osbourn locked in the key artwork for Joe Bob's Halloween House Party, he knew the inspiration was clear: Halloween sale ads that once filled newspapers throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
Osbourn studied vintage circulars from stores like Woolworths, Alco, and Toys “R” Us, blending their bold layouts with the grocery‑store and drug‑store vibe of chains such as Osco and Walgreens. Even the fictional drug store from Halloween 4 served as a tonal anchor. The result is a full-page “Halloween House Party” sale ad—an imagined spread of products you’d buy for a spooky night in, all tied directly to The Last Drive‑In.
Joe Bob's Halloween House Party's will be the series second-to-last episode and final Halloween special is available now as a special edition poster from Slasher Design before appearing on an upcoming Fright-Rags T-shirt.

The ad features a mix of items seen in past episodes and the upcoming special. Chili Bandit chili makes an appearance, as do six‑packs of beer, a staple of nearly every Joe Bob segment. Some of the decor showcased in the ad will even appear on set during the broadcast. The “Horror Movies on VHS” section highlights the two films featured in this year’s double feature (Check back and we'll update the image when the two features are announced).
Darcy appears in classic vampire attire—fangs and cape—while Joe Bob gets a standout transformation. Osbourn reimagines him as a skeleton wearing a Ben Cooper‑style vinyl costume, complete with subtle nods to Joe Bob’s Drive‑In Theater on TMC in the late 80s and early 90s. The design choice gives the host an eye‑catching Halloween twist while staying rooted in drive‑in history. Additional candy and decor elements round out the spread, filling the ad with era‑authentic charm.

The title treatment for Joe Bob’s Halloween House Party leans into the gross‑out candy packaging aesthetic of the 1990s (and even seen in some packaging today), merged with the header style of classic sales ad circulars tucked in the evening newspaper.
Osbourn also included nods to prints from previous Halloween specials, celebrating both the artwork and prevoius Joe Bob episodes.
The Last Drive‑In—and its final Halloween Special Double Feature—airs Friday night, Oct. 23, on Shudder and AMC+. The episode will be available on demand beginning Oct. 25.
A limited edition run of 75 prints will be available for pre‑order at SlasherDesign.com through Nov. 1, with shipping estimated for mid‑to‑late November.
