In this post for Halloween Haunt 2025, we're opening blind bag horror toys—and we ended up with a few awesome figures including lots of Universal Monsters.
The unfortunate trend lately seems to be offering blind bag collectibles--where you don't know what you're going to get and unevitabley you're destined to get duplicates, triplicates and more.
For the most part (damn you, Universal Monsters!) we don't do the blind bags, but for Halloween Haunt we picked up a few for some blog posting fun.
Plus, we got to see what a Kinder Joy really is. (Spoiler: It's a creamy chocolately mixture with two rice krispie-type balls. The chocolate was pretty good, not cheap-tasting).
Much like an 80s or 90s trick or treat bowl ready for kids to dawn your doorstep, here's our bowl of monster goodness.

We're starting off with something that isn't a blind bag, but does feature squishy, glow-in-the-dark toy things called Nee Doh from Aldi. Of course, we scrounged through multiple boxes until we found the Frankenstein monster and Dracula.

This thing was hard to photograph, but this is the Kinder Joy toy--a werewolf. Turns out that the artwork on the package doesn't align with the toy you get. Too bad. We decided to hold off on opening them all in case we get a trick or treater this year.

And for those, like us, that never had a Kinder Joy--this is what they look like.

Now for some Universal Monster goodness. We picked up the following two backpack or keychain snap-ons from Pop Shelf. These were true blind bags, but we're not unhappy with these Care Bear X Universal Monsters crossover featuring the Bride and the Creature.

Next, we moved on to the Tiny Nightmares and Funko's Mini Horror figures.

The Tiny Nightmares from Target again included the Creature...

and the Bride of Frankenstein. We may have figured out how to get the ones we wanted.

For the Funko option, we got really lucky because there are only a couple Universal Monsters options, so this one was total blind bag crapshoot--and we ended up with Dracula! We picked this one up from Five Below.

Finally, we opened one of our Silver Screen Universal Monsters from Super 7 and ended up with this cool Wolf Man!

We also picked up one of the Squishmallows Hallowee countdown things from Aldi, but we're going to save that for future post fun activities!
