A review of Menards’ Halloween Pumpkin Hollow Village highlights how the retailer’s creative, affordable decor outshines pricier Spooky Town pieces and delivers classic monster vibes for the 2026 season.

We know not everyone has a Menards store nearby. They are a Midwest and central U.S. retailer similar to Lowe’s or The Home Depot. Over the past three or four years, Menards has been hitting it on all cylinders when it comes to Halloween. Each year they offer a variety of Halloween and fall decorations, including several options for classic monster fans.

The one thing we really look forward to each year is Menards’ Pumpkin Hollow brand and its village. Similar to the Lemax Spooky Town sets found most prominently at Michaels, the Pumpkin Hollow offerings bring a unique take featuring all kinds of spooks, monsters and ghouls. There are various sizes but none overly large. Some have music, sound effects and lights. Like Spooky Town, there are individual characters, set pieces and even vehicles, including this year's tractor.

Spooky Town is always great and extremely detailed, but this year's price increases and lack of features leave a little to be desired. Even the creativity is lacking. But not with Pumpkin Hollow. Each piece is glowing with creativity and individually offers an experience. You can take any one of the sets and create your own story around it. Sure, Pumpkin Hollow is less detailed than Spooky Town and some pieces are in the same vein as previous Spooky Town offerings, like the Fright Night Theatre and the video store, but they always have a unique feel that harkens back to a classic Halloween vibe, almost timeless.

This year we picked up Frank’s Auto Body and Charge Bay, of course we did. The Frankenstein‑themed garage was $60 and features light, sound and music, plus the ability to turn the sounds down. A similar offering at Michaels would go for $150 or more if it had been from Spooky Town. We paired it with our prized Spooky Town Fright Night Theatre from two years ago and surrounded it with our scarecrows and other monsters.

Last year we picked up the witch on the rocket but opted not to put it out this year. We're also eyeing a couple more Pumpkin Hollow offerings this year, but we'll see how the rest of Halloween hunting season shakes out.
