The Wolves are Out Tonight! Wolf Man merch review

It's been a big week for the Wolf Man with the first issue of a new comic, a BoxLunch exclusive throw and a literal lunch box and thermos from Fright-Rags! And yes, we have all in hand!

The Image/Skybound comic, the next in the line of Universal Monsters mini-series, features the return of the Wolf Man. This isn't Larry Talbot though; it's a young college kid who seemingly just slaughtered a bunch of his fellow students. The time period isn't exact, but from the clothing designs, it appears to be set in the 70s. And while this isn't the Wolf Man we know from the 1940s movie, the boy is definitely connected to that movie!

We picked up all the covers that were affordable and really enjoyed the beginning of what will surely be another entry in these outstanding new ventures into nearly a century of the classic monsters.

Our next pickup is a tapestry throw, which was an exclusive to BoxLunch. The spooky threads measure 64" x 50" and makes a great cover on the bed. It's not heavy, so it won't be too hot in the summertime. The artwork is great and stands out in a way that some of the fleece throws lack. The throws sell for $50, but we picked ours up with a 25% off discount. Other monsters include Frankenstein's monster, the Bride, Dracula and the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Our final Wolf Man merch is the Fright-Rags lunch box and Thermos. It has a very high-quality feel, outstanding artwork and even has that embossed design that we remember from our lunch boxes in the 1980s. The thermos is equally great--and yes, we're actually going to use it. The lunch box is licensed by the Chaney estate and Universal. Our favorite thing about the set though might just be the Wolf Man art on the thermos--which we've learned is also available on a Fright-Rags shirt.

It's a great time to be a Universal Monsters fan! While there isn't much in the way of new movies to watch, there is certainly a continuous supply of new merchandise coming our way!
