Introducing Certified X comics from Cereal Creatures

Cert. X comics

On Halloween, Cereal Creatures announces a new imprint called Cert. X featuring a line of horror comics with reinterpretations of literary, screen and comics greatest monsters including Frankenstein, Dracula, the Invisible Man and Teen Satan with original art and a stylish hard body pulp quality.

"Something clicked when I looked at old movie posters and saw 'Certified X' or 'Cert. X' emblazoned on them—sometimes prominently, sometimes not so much. But what did it mean? It turns out it's related to a ratings system from the mid-20th century. More interestingly, these were typically horror movies that were controversial or boundary-pushing. That's exactly what I wanted to use as an imprint for our latest line of comics."

The exact titles, characters and formats are still begin developed. The first releases are expected in November, with additional characters and titles launching in December and into 2026. Readers can expect updated iterations of the classic monsters, but intermixed with classic Osbourn Draw and Cereal Creatures titles including Probed, Night Cock City and Teen Satan.

"The vision is to do something like DC's Absolute line, but with classic monsters, plus our own original characters. It allows us to expand our brand, but also brings all-new, original takes on favorite characters and storylines. It really is the best of both worlds."

The following artwork and design represent early versions of the Certified X series and may not be included in final releases.
