The new year kicks off with Universal Monsters merchandise including Valentines, Funko POPs, Super7, DVDs and pillows!
We have to give it to Universal's licensing team--they are definitely getting our favorite monsters out there! Although our local Walmart was somehow out of stock, we found these Valentine "Universal Little Monsters" mini play packs online. Like those offered at Halloween, these bags include booklets to color plus two crayons and a sticker. Each pack of eight sells for $4. We've only seen them from Walmart, but the Halloween version was also found at other stores including Target and the grocery chain Hy-Vee.

Sticking with the Valentines Day theme, Walmart is offering a collection of Univeral Monster movies on DVD with red white and black slip covers. These are similar to the orange Halloween versions, as well as the green and more recently the blue glow-in-the-dark variants. The artwork remains the same as do the special features. The collectoin includes each monster's debut movie. Cost is about $23.

Just prior to Christmas, Walmart added a Funko POP display in stores that, to our surprise, featured this long-sought Dracula with his castle figure. Both are physically very small and part of the Bitty POP! Towns line. Dracula is the only Universal Monsters option available and retails for under $10.

Another later release in 2025 is The Wolf Man on a Red Trike, part of the Super Cycles line from Super7. In all honesty, this is one use of the Universal Monsters that has never clicked with us. There have been multiple varieties of the Frankenstein monster (our favorite monster), as well as the Bride and the Creature. However, seeing the Wolf Man and the always-cool art on the box may just convince us to pick up our first bike. Cost is a whopping $65.

Another late‑2025 release is this set of cool pillows featuring Frankenstein’s monster, the Bride and Dracula — all available from NBC’s online shop. The designs are identical to the ‘Little Monsters’ seen on the Valentines pack, but here they’re still branded as Universal Monsters. The pillows measure 22" x 22" and sell for $36.95. We haven’t picked any up yet, but we wonder if they’re similar to the unlicensed Frankenstein and Mummy pillows Target sold at Halloween. At nearly $40 you’re definitely paying for the license, but they do look great.
